About Miltonfells: Who We Are and How We Travel
Who we are
We are a small crew of writers and travellers who got tired of brochures pretending to be advice. Miltonfells started in 2021 as a shared notebook, a place to log what actually worked after we paid for it ourselves. Today it reaches thousands of monthly readers who want straight answers before they book a flight, a bed or a bag.
Our mission
We help you travel further for less. Every week we publish free guides on islands and coasts, hotels and stays, city escapes, travel gear and budget travel: real prices, honest trade-offs and steps you can act on the same day you read them. No fluff, no filler, no press-trip brochures copied into a post.
Editorial standards
No sponsored picks, no pay-to-rank lists. We pay for the flights, the rooms and the gear we write about, we disclose relationships, and we correct mistakes in public within 48 hours. Numbers come from our own bookings and from public sources such as UN Tourism, never from a hotel's marketing deck.
The team
Marta Oyelaran (islands and coasts, 10 years), Idris Falkner (Europe off the map, 8 years), Bea Lindqvist (hotels and stays, 9 years), Nadia Petrova (city escapes, 7 years), Grace Abioye (gear, 8 years) and a rotating bench of travellers who review every guide before it ships.

How we test
Testing is simple and slow. We book the trip with our own money, stay the nights we write about and carry the bags through real airports. We note the boring details that decide a purchase: how a strap sits after an hour, how a room sounds at night, how far the station really is on foot.
We repeat the important checks twice. A hotel gets two separate visits where we can manage it. A backpack is packed to the airline limit before we judge the zip. Numbers come from receipts and public data, not from a brand sheet.
How we make money
We earn from display advertising and from an occasional affiliate link, and that is the whole list. We do not sell placements, we do not accept free trips in exchange for coverage, and no brand sees a draft before you do.
An affiliate link never changes a verdict. If a product we earn from loses a test, we say so in the same words we would use for any other. You can always read a guide without clicking a single link.
Corrections policy
When we get something wrong we fix it fast. Email [email protected] with the page and the problem. We aim to reply within one business day and to publish a correction within 48 hours.
Small fixes are silent. Bigger errors, such as a wrong price or a misnamed place, get a visible note at the foot of the article so readers see what changed and when.
Careers and contributors
We work with a small core team and a bench of freelance travellers. Writers pitch with a place, an angle and proof they have been there. We pay on publication and we credit every contributor by name.
We do not run unpaid internships and we do not accept guest posts for links. If you want to write for us, send a short pitch to [email protected].
Our promise to readers
We will tell you when a place is not worth the money, even if it is popular. We will name our own mistakes and fix them where you can see the change. We will keep the site free and readable, with no pop-ups and no autoplay noise.
If we ever fail on any of those points, the contact page is open. We would rather hear it from you than find out later.
Honest travel writing for people who book the trip.
